New Job and Polygamy

New job! As of Monday, May 15th, I will be working at Harbour Homes as a Customer Service Assistant Manager. Yay! Part of me is nervous because I haven't officially signed the offer paperwork, but I have a start date and training schedule, etc. I worry and worry until things are set in stone. Tony says I need to relax. He's probably right.

I'm so excited about starting a job that I think I will love. When I was in college I would have never thought that I would want to work for a real estate development company, but the job description seems exactly what God has suited me for. My friend Ashley referred me, I put in my two weeks, and things seemed to come together like clockwork. Lately Tony and I have been watching a show called Big Love. It is about a polygamist family in Salt Lake City, Utah, and it has me completely hooked in that way that you can't stop picking at a scab. There is a part of it that I can't wrap my mind around. These people think they are doing God's will, and this will help get them into the Celestial Kingdom. Obviously this is not in my belief system, but part of their lifestyle is cool.

Before you write me off as your friend, hear me out. There is this awesome respect that exists between the wive(s) and their husband. He's the leader, they respect that, there are roles, and marriage works. Its Biblical in the Biblical sense, in that "wives submit to your husbands and husbands respect your wives", but the way they act it out is a bit 'big'.

Thoughts. Mormonism is interesting to me. I couldn't handle my husband having another wife, let alone two, or three. I want to kick a girl if I think she's looking at him too long, how do you think I'd do if I knew she was getting some in the next house with my man? Yeah, not too well.

The part about it that I love is that there is this Dad and Husband who really loves all of his wives, and all of his kids. Its not about sex, its about what he thinks God wants him to do. Its addicting. Completely. I'm asking Tony for on demand cable so I can watch it - he said no already.

It's causing me too think. I mean, can you really ever have too much big love?
