Burned!

Got to go enjoy a nice time golfing this last Wednesday with my good friend Nathan at Willows Run in Redmond/Woodinville area. Gorgeous course on a beautiful day. Only lost 7 balls and shot an amazing 109 and was schooled by a 12-year old. No I am not joking. He shot under 100. Haha, yeah, well it was my first time swinging a club since the day before my wedding. So there! It was still a blast, but we forgot one thing.. Sunscreen! That would have been a really smart idea. Needless to say I am burnt. Scorched a bit actually! Scalp and forehead got the brunt of it. But whatcha gonna do huh? It was worth it.

Katie and I had a fun dinner/snack out at the Redhook Brewery last night with some friends and had a great time. Anytime I think about having a good beer, I think of this quote from Robin Hood Prince of Theives:
"This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption. Let us give praise to our maker and glory to his bounty by learning about... BEER !"
That pretty much sums it up! It is an interesting balance act. You want the beer, you know it has a lot of calories, but it is sooo good. But you don't want to have too much because then you'll get tipsy. Moderation. That is the key to life in my opinion, finding the right balance where everything is still fun and enjoyable, but not overdoing it, or depriving yourself. I think I have mastered this when it comes to alcohol, however I always like to be cautious.

The 4th weekend we are heading 20mins north of Everett to Lake Goodwin for a night of camping. That should be fun and are going with Todd and Amanda (our new friends from church), whom we have found that there is too much in common, that it is scary! Somehow Todd and I are were in the same womb as were Katie and Amanda. Regardless of my disturbing example, we are going to go have some fun this weekend and hopefully dip in the lake.
